Papers of Edythe Stirlen, 1930-1981.

The papers primarily document Edythe Stirlen's life work as a radio minister, evidenced by over three decades of transcripts of sermons. There are also the prayers and announcements she read on the radio during her program. Also included are the printed prayer pamphlets, postcards, calendars, and the magazine S.O.S. signal, spanning about fifty years, which she sent out to keep in touch with her listeners.

Affectionately known as the "Little minister," Edythe Stirlen was a radio minister from 1925 to the early 1980s on KFNF and KMA radio stations in Shenandoah, Iowa. One of the first ordained women ministers in the Midwest, Stirlen had a loyal following nationwide.
